I’m a big fan of the four-day week as so far I’ve heard nothing but good things in term of the outcome companies find.
This week a 17-company trial concluded that consisted of 1,000 employees where each one’s decided to keep it going.
That’s what we keep hearing isn’t it?
Some companies report even higher productivity which in part is as a result of reciprocity.
After all the same pay for one day less a week, who wouldn’t work more effectively to show appreciation.
How Would Your Company Benefit
Imagine if your company was doing the same what would the up-turn be?
Do you think it’s possible in your industry?
Would you all get your heads together and say it can’t be done.
Creatively, when we think about the old adage:
- If we always do what we’ve always done – nothing changes
And that’s the thing, isn’t it?
- fear of change.
Ooooh what will it look like?
What will I do with the spare time?
Will I just lozz about or will I use it to spend it on quality time things for me, my partner and my kids.
More date nights.
More Lego play.
More Rest More Productivity
Time off is a good thing despite absenteeism rising and sick leave spiraling off the scale.
Especially where public health services aren’t addressing the underlying emotional stress trigger indicators. Loss. Bereavement. Mental health issues. A child’s resistance to school. Not playing a big enough role at home.
It’s all there.
So yes, I’m all for it.
Where do you stand on it?

Health challenges in early childhood kick-started a Sherlock curiosity in cause and effect.
