As a women without my own children I know only too well how wonky the holidays can be.
These days I’m acclimatised.
I use the the holiday in better ways than I ever have re connecting, social, family.
For me it’s now very much a time of renewal.
I love this period for that.
The feeling of turning a new page.
A fresh chapter.
All Change In 2025
As I relaunched my practice in 2024 last year saw my practice pivot.
I wrote about my reflections which I ought to dig out and post in hindsight.
I unexpectedly landed myself here as an abundance coach which draws together all my previous hats.
What does this even mean for me?
Well… it’s a Health | Wealth | Happiness hat in all fairness.
When health, well-being and finances are coasting along, then happiness ought to be fairly inevitable.
It’s an unspoken, it’s a taken care of, it’s a necessary underbelly that symbolises the quality of life you have open to you.
But we certainly know when either of these are interrupted, especially when decisions about any of these can change on a sixpence, where it’s not always within our own remit.
Your work gets disrupted because something’s happening outside of your own doing.
You’re in a role that doesn’t necessarily serve you.
The team haven’t got your back.
They don’t get you.
They treat you as less than.
Where not having kids keeps you outside the loop.
I know this one only too well, and is why I’m so passionate about kids.
Because our early lives invariably played some sort of part in the outcomes of later life in this area, whether we acknowledge it or not.
It can be isolating not to be in the club – in this regard.
People think, well whatever it is they do think, isn’t really your concern.
Being okay in yourself, where you feel misunderstood, is what matters.
Being Curious Is More Important
Personally, I love kids.
I can be silly with the best of them, playful, imaginative.
I have two great nephews, my nieces kids.
They are sweet.
They are both so different.
They have very different needs.
Which is all of us growing up.
Where you were in receipt of a one size parenting approach that was expected to fit all, well that’s a different conversation.
It’s not on you if your upbringing didn’t meet your needs.
Today we’re societally more switched on in terms of what abuse looks like…
emotional – mental – physical – sexual – verbal
These are areas many of us will have suffered as kids.
The unspoken, the place where secrets and lies reside.
Not being given the agency we deserved.
Growing up with low self-belief-confidence-esteem issues.
So common.
Nothing to be ashamed of… where the impact is greater than we often realise.
Where it can takes decades to even realise what happened to us, let alone find the courage to do something about it… often because of loyalty.
It’s important not to suffer in silence.
Getting curious about your own history and ancestral patterns is a whole new ball game of what helped me stop blaming and start taking ownership of how I show up in the now.
It gives you an opportunity to really invest in yourself to achieve what you may not even have imagined at this point, or go even further, a luxury that not every mum feels she can make time for.
I know it can be difficult even to air these feelings, but it’s definitely better out than in, in terms of speaking to a confidant.
That’s a role I play, message if you’d like a free chat to get some of yours aired in a safe, nurturing, got your back space with someone who completely gets the road less travelled.

Health challenges in early childhood kick-started a Sherlock curiosity in cause and effect.
