I want to share a plan I’m starting to dig into. I’ve been reading The pH Miracle book for a number of reasons, because I want to make a catalytic change to my own eating habits.
I have done so much work on myself over the last 20-yrs from counselling and coaching to hypnotherapy and now EFT and META-Medicine.
But it was disruptive patterns of smoking, eating, and more besides that got me into the work I do now. The longer I’ve gone on the more I’ve learned, but I was always convinced it was more about mindset than anything else.
Getting The Body On Board
I understood that some people can be slim and ill, we’ve all seen it, and haven’t we all seen wonderfully large people being really light on their feet, when it comes to hitting the dance-floor. So I’d realized that a persons weight does not equate to their state of health and fitness.
But I was determined to hold onto all the usual suspects such as white sugar, wheat and dairy. Surely it’s just the way these products are processed now that makes it different from when I was a kid, eating all sorts of stodge, as it was back then in the fifties.
But I was a natural weight, was I? I was, the pictures tell me so, and no-one was that obsessed with their weight back then, and there was definitely less obesity, the statistics tell us so – right. Trawling for information discloses that the issue of obesity hadn’t been considered as an issue between 1950-60 so figures weren’t captured.
But it was starting to evolve into a problem even then, but who would have known it.
My Dieting Tale
I have tried lots of plans but the one I liked best was Slimming World, because you could ring the changes between the days, green and red.
I loved having carb days and equally loved having the protein days, but missed not combining them. Maybe my story is typical I really don’t know, but on 14 July 1996 I embarked on that plan with a view to dropping the 2st I’d gained since becoming a non-smoker, in April of the same year. It’s not that I’d put on two stones in the interim months although it was a valiant attempt :).
I lost the weight and more besides, and by 6 December the same year I was at my target and that is when the trouble began.
I moved from the middle of the UK to the southern tips two days later and proceeded to eat my way through a hibernation of goodies, that was one helluva winter for sure.
I gained back the weight and more, and what I’ve subsequently learned from the experience, is that dieting didn’t teach me anything about control or the drivers to eat, when it comes to eating far more than my body needs or wants for that matter.
The pH Miracle
So I’ve picked up The pH Miracle because I’m looking for the food side to all of this as well as resolving the emotional side. Weight is complex – we gotta eat don’t we?
And I like what I’m reading … it seems drastic but recent events are demanding my attention in this area and I feel a somewhat drastic approach is needed, especially in light of:
- my age
- my physical condition
- my sedentary lifestyle
I want to try it out to see how it helps with disease, aches, pain, aging, flexibility and more besides and I want to hand on heart tell others of its merits and pitfalls, there are bound to be both.
So I’m in … I’ve started bringing my attention to it today … I’m not running at this like a bull at a gate because we all know how that winds up, but I made a change to breakfast followed by a non-sandwich lunch.
If you fancy joining me then just click through to get the book, you can see it on Amazon and its one of those that lets you check out the contents first. I’m using the paperback because it’s about the same price – both are reduced – and the hardback is an older edition.
Let me know what you think. I’m going to talk more on this next week when I’ve dug deeper … would love to compare notes. Let’s do this together and see where it leads us.

You write very well Jane. That has to be one of the most readable articles I have ever read on a blog. Your site will do well.
Thanks Liz …
That’s lovely to hear …
