Hypnotherapy is one of the earlier trainings I took and is probably one of the best known alternate therapy treatments. Although some people still believe it is about ‘mind-control’. The truth is that the mind operates on the following ratio: 95% – subconscious and 5% conscious. And that’s a lot of mind to have running riot without having some input as to the beliefs, thoughts and emotions you would like to have running the show, rather than many inherited (from all sorts of unexpected sources) where you find you’re just not delivering the sort of life you’d like for yourself.
And the thing is it’s up to you … it’s up to all of us to decide what we want and go for it … because its an out-and-out myth to believe that someone or something outside of yourself is in charge of your life and has decided your fate. So once you get over that you’re freer to believe that the sky’s the limit and learning how to take the reigns is often the first step.
I trained in Advanced Hypnotherapy at the Atkinson Ball College of Hypnotherapy. with Cherith Powell and Greg Forde in London (2006). Hypnosis has been around for approx 150+ yrs but has been more commonly recognised in the UK since the 1960’s. The process is simple and relaxing where you can hear everything being said and open your eyes at any time. Hypnosis works by quietening the ‘chattering’ conscious mind, in order to work directly with the subconscious mind and make change at the deeper level where it can change the neural pathways that connect the brain to the nervous system.
