Life coaching is a great application to enable you to get from A-B using appropriate coaching questions and often uses a SMART system of:
- S = Specific
- M = Measurable
- A = Attainable
- R = Relevant
- T = Time frame
If you think about it there are a number of components that make up your life and the aim on what is often referred to as a Life Balance Wheel is to aim for an all-round life instead of exceeding in one or two areas, and neglecting others.
Life is full of the spinning-plates-syndrome and it’s very easy to over compensate in other areas, rather than go and rebalance something you need but overlook, for whatever reasons.
Ideally in life there is a flow and balance, so that you can work more on what’s not working so well as you’ve already mastered what’s clearly working well.
Here is a list to check on yours, although you’re free to change what doesn’t resonate with you, as long as you replace it with something similar, so that all areas of life are covered, no cheating and just deleting criteria out, as that defeats the object (of course you know that already):
- Career / Work / Business
- Personal development
- Spiritual / Community
When life is off-balance in one or more areas it can have a domino-effect on the others and throw you off-course. Coaching sessions allow you the opportunity to explore a specific aspect and bring it back into harmony, in line with everything else in your life.
I took my training in Life Coaching (Certificate and Diploma) with the NCFE at Newcastle College (2005).
PS: I’d love to support you in getting rid of what’s not floating-your-boat, so that you can learn how to change what works against you and start tapping into your full potential.
