I’ve noticed over time, that there’s often a multi-dilemma going on between these two factors, where people have terrible relationships with food and money.
What’s going on when we’re gaining weight and losing money, when really we want the exact opposite to happen, how’s this imbalance come about? Is there a correlation? Or have I dreamt it up?
I doubt there’s any evidence to show a link, I just happen to sense there’s something going on here.
But that proves nothing, right, after all the common denominator could be that all people with poor food habits spend way too much on dancing round their handbags on a Tuesday night!
I mentioned the theory to one of my mentors, a couple of years ago, but there was no interest, and I’ve not done anything with it since.
If you’ve read any of my posts on weight loss, or a better phrase, poor relationships with food, you’ll already know that I’ve talked a lot about the tons of evidence that show why:
Diets do not work for most people
Not wishing to dismiss the way anyone earns a living, I’ve learned to steer away from the purveyors of such misguided programmes.
Now I only work with those ready to take back the control around their food habits, because it’s so much easier to self manage, once you have the right tools at your disposal.
And you know you’ve cracked it when you no longer obsess over food… which is much quicker once you let go of the dieting mindset.
After all any programme that wants you for life, however they disguise it, prompts some serious questions doesn’t it?
And if you don’t know me by now, I’m all for the self-empowerment of getting off the training wheels and getting on with getting over what drives these behaviours, rather than focusing on the behaviours themselves.
What is weight gain about anyway
The information I base my more advanced consultations on brings a new understanding into the mix, where there are a minimum of two, maybe three subconscious programmes at play regarding weight fluctuation.
These programmes show up in different ways
One of them I shared in this article, the second, is more relevant to this topic, and a tad more complex.
Suffice to say, it concerns the collection of water in an organ area, which in weight gain is most commonly stored around the belly region.
According to Dr Diana Stefani a fellow Master ACE & META-Health Trainer practicing medicine in California:
This physiological pattern of odema underpins approximately 50% of the medical conditions that walk through my door
I use certain questioning that ties into the model found here that helps a person get to the roots of the matter.
And in all honesty the area of weight can be challenging, because the problem has so many strands that show up in everyday life through the following mix of influences; at home, at work, with friends, self confidence, body image, physical humiliation, media nonsense, the dieting industry, food manufacturing, the supermarkets, food itself, and early programming.
And as I’ve said before it’s the one compulsion we face on a daily basis, unlike any other sort of addictive behaviour, that is mandatory to face head-on.
So if you’re someone dealing with this right now, don’t beat up on yourself, it’s truly not your fault!
What are money issues about?
Here’s where my thesis comes in, the model I’m showing you also understands that money has it’s roots in this water collection programme, psychologically.
In terms of money only, here are some questions to establish if you have both going on?
- Did you lose out on some money you felt was due to you?
- Were you cheated out of some money?
- Did you get cut off from close ties due to money?
- Did you get cut off from a situation that was due to give a good return on investment?
- Did a good investment turn bad?
- Did you get ill after any of the above?
- Did you have any depression, anxiety, weird behaviours, or stress related symptoms appear after any of the above?
- Did your sexual gender preferences change after any of the above, where you either became bi-sexual or flipped entirely from straight to gay or vice versa?
